What is the new Secure by Default standard?

The new Secure by Default standard is being targeted specifically at video surveillance (CCTV) cameras. The reason for this is because they are particularly targeted by hackers, online criminals and terrorist organisations.

if you're a suspicious person like me you'll have noticed that this is being self-certified, which means that the manufacturers are certifying themselves as meeting the standard.
